$8.45

Short-term GOAL.
Two months. I want to buy a portable DVD player. I need $90 to buy the one I want.

Short-term PLAN: Work with Dad to earn money for DVD player.

Why I want a DVD player: When we're traveling on long long trips, like to Oregon or Washington, then I'll be able to watch movies.

Drawbacks of saving for a portable DVD player: Not being able to buy other things that I want, like other Nintendo DS games, and another Nintendo DS Lite.

Positives of saving for a portable DVD player: If you save, you can get better-quality things.

Long-term goal:
I want to save for a 3/4 of a mansion.
I also want to buy a (red) convertible car.

When is a good time to start?: Now.

How am I going to reach my long-term goal?: By saving money. That's the only way. I think I should put 75% of my earnings toward my long-term goals because I want to be happy when I'm an adult. I'll break that down 75% house to 25% car.

Why start now?: Because if I do that, I'll be able to take care of myself, pay for medical bills and stuff. I want to be able to drive and I want a nice home.

Breakdown:

Portable DVD Player:
Have: $2.11
Need: $87.90

I have $6.35 left

Toward Own Home: $4.76
Toward Convertible Car: $1.59
